Roulette
The game of Roulette originated in France and the word Roulette is French and means "little wheel". Supposedly the French mathematician Blaise Pascal invented the device.
The first use of the modern roulette wheel with the alternating colors and the odd/even numbers was in 1796 in a Paris Casino. The modern day layout were found in casinos in 1842. The roulette wheel came to America in the 1800's and because of the small house edge it was modified with two zeros. The American version has an extra pocket, so the odds of a player winning are not as good. If you play roulette, always play the European version if you wish to increase your odds of winning.
